I haven't posted for the longest time.... I've been busy doing IMportant Mog Things. For example, after much seeking, I have found a new place to lay my weary head for several hours a day.

It comes with convenient under-rug heating, built-in entertainment / food.

LET ME GLARE AT YOU FOR JUST A MOMENT.

It's not often that I complain. But.... I feel I MUST on this occasion.

I have just had to get my technical experts to change my e-mail address.

I have had certain things done to me, as a strapping male cat, that mean that I do not need the certain body-part enhancing products that I have been offered by various companies in certain spam e-mails.

If people would like to send my people several truckloads of CAT FOOD instead, I would be most interested to see any of those emails.

I am going to have a quick sleep 'til those emails start arriving.

So..... I woke up, early, after a mere 16 hours sleep, while my humans went to that work thing that they do to keep me in food and decided that it was rather necessary for me to pop out and empty the tanks. She came home just in time and then she thought it was funny to point that silver thing at me that makes pictures.

I tried hard to ignore her and look away while I was mid-pee, but she insisted on laughing at me and taking a picture.

I don't take pictures of them, no matter what they are up to. As usual, I am less than impressed and can't wait for the day when I can trade these humans for some that are better.

I am going to have a good lie down now and think about all this....

The View From The Green Bin.

Today there was a bit of sun, so I sat on the bin - for several reasons. I use this bin in summer (which we didn't seem to get much of last year and the male and female did not seem to have a great deal of explanation when I raised the point) as a way of getting onto and off the shed roof. That is a good place to be and I will tell you about that another day.

Another reason is that there is a right stress going on with the OF and disposal of rubbish as the local 'tip' is 'closed for repair'. I don't know what that means, but a lot of talk about 'bins' is going on at the moment so I thought I would sit on our green one to keep it safe.

Anyway, I sat on the bin mainly because I was unsure if the white cold snow would return and sitting on the bin keeps me off the floor. Although I seem to remember that the snow was everywhere not just on the floor ........... hum.

So, the bin keeps me off the floor and it is also a good place to watch birds from. The OF feeds them almost as much as she feeds me. She brings all sorts home from work and a whole range of birds sit in the tree waiting for her to distribute her bounty. They normally glance at me, then carry on eating. If I jump down they all fly off so I usually just stay on the bin. Sometimes the cat from next door, who I don't get on with, comes and eats the food OF leaves for the birds. I don't hesitate to jump down then and we rush at one another in slow motion the way cats do until one of us gives up and runs away. I have won the last two.

The male's YF also works in the same place as the OF but I never see her feeding the birds, but she does give me chews when she visits. I think something profound can be drawn from that, but am sleepy again so will think more when I have had a nap. Do you know cats usually sleep for many hours a day. More about that tomorrow.

Pardon my French, but I do NOT appreciate this white stuff. At all. A Mog of my stature needs to be warm. THEY put me outside and they laughed when I sat down and found the snow was very cold and then when I shook my bottom to try to warm it up. It didn't work. I scowled at them. Lots.

Even when I stood up, it was still cold on my paws, which really was no use at all to me. So I had a quick gallop to the front of the house to try to get onto the windowsill, so they would stop laughing and let me in. And give me lots of chews.

Three attempts and I got onto the windowsill. Even that had show on it.

Life is not what it could be at the moment, what with all the snow and hailstones and stuff and now she has got manflu from him. She can't stay off work, so she staggered off today, with not so much as a word to me and was not much better when she got back..... so I'm just going to sleep through this hitch.

The younger female turned up late on Saturday night and made a suitable fuss of me and also of the older one as it was going to be something called Mother's Day on the Sunday. She brought her two bottles of something and a card from Lanzarotte where she had been. She had to do it on Saturday as on Sunday, which is apparently the real day, she was going back to this place for more days.

There was talk of planes and such and I found it all boring. Except the bit where Noj who is a friend of the younger female picked me up, he then gave me some chews and was very nice to me. For some reason he then spent time in the back room with his fingers in his ears whilst the YF and the male got excited about something called 'LOST'. I am just glad I am found and not out in the cold white stuff.

Birds / How Not To Be Seen.

So on the subject of birds. My people are convinced (I have heard them talking) that I don't know they are not very respectful of me and my hunting abilities. As I said I did bring a bird for her which she did not appreciate. I brought her a caterpillar one day, which I put on the rug and when it started to move, she threw it out of the window into the garden. I have brought her moths which she seems not to like. I can't kill things you see, I just catch them. I brought a vole one day and when I put it down it didn't stay put and there was a dreadful fuss about catching it and getting it back to the garden. Then there was the baby hedgehog that we had in the shed for ages. I had no real problem with it except they fed it my food.

Anyway it grew up and moved on. Anyway, I have problems, I am white and visible and most things can see me from the moon. But as they say, which makes me a bit sick, I am cute. NOOOOO not cute. My favourite two things I brought back were a turkey leg (cooked) one Christmas and a large grey fluffy cat who I showed how to jump on the windowsill and wait for the window to be opened.

Tomorrow will be my views on chews.

This morning I got up at 5am. I hit the male with my paw a few times, but he just ignored me. I knew the female was awake, but not taking me on. Jumping on her did no good, so I played my trump card, which is clawing the carpet. She got up and let me out. I don't know why they don't think that time of the morning is a good idea; there are lots of birds about, which suits me fine.

About 50 hours later, she got up and went to work, but I missed the opportunity to get back in through the door. He is off work, so I just had to wait for an age, 'til he surfaced.

About the old and infirm birds.... I never got one yet, except the one I brought into the house last year. It flew round and she went mad. Not quite as much as when I brought the caterpillar in (tell you about that tomorrow) or the voles (lots of them). So this is me in handsome reposing mode... as big and fat as if I'd eaten all the birds. One day.....

Sorry I haven't kept you up to date, my people have had some personal problems but that seems to be ok now. I need to say at at no time were food or chewies not in ample supply, so thanks to them for that.

So - today I was wandering round the garden and this trip led to the picture for today. The older female has a younger female who no longer lives with us but I am always glad to see her car as I can use the guilty thing to get chews. I was bought from a rescue home for her, but she left me behind when she moved away. Anyway, I remember the older one telling the younger one if you kiss a frog it turns into a prince. Not that I want a prince unless he has pockets full of chews. So, during my trip round the garden looking for any elderly or infirm birds, ( more of that tomorrow), I found a frog !!! I kissed it, but nothing happened.
